Production Delivery Process
Google Drive
At JLM, we use Google Drive to manage all project files and music submissions.
Before sending us any material, please ensure you have a Gmail account, which comes with 15 GB of free storage. We recommend setting up a dedicated Gmail account specifically for your JLM work to help you stay organized and avoid storage issues.
As always, once a project is completed, we will back up the entire album. You may then remove your files from Google Drive if you wish.
The benefit of using Google Drive is that we can give you direct access to your project folder or share a collaborative folder with you.
All files — including demos, edits, pre-masters, stems, etc. — must be delivered to us via Google Drive.
Please note: We will not accept any submissions sent through other means.
TRACKS FOLDER
DEMOS
This folder should only contain demos submitted for review. Feedback and suggested changes will follow, so please label each version clearly using v1, v2, etc. to avoid confusion. All demos must also be recorded in the ‘Submissions Datasheet’ with basic metadata. Submissions that are not listed in the datasheet will not receive feedback. All demo edits must be MP3s.
EDITS
Once demos have been approved, upload the revised versions to the EDITS folder. Each updated batch (if submitting multiple audio files) should be named using the format:
BatchXX-DD.MM.YY (e.g., Batch1-26.10.20), with individual audio files also labelled using the v1, v2 format. All edits must be MP3s.
PRE-MASTERS
After edits have been approved, pre-masters should be created and uploaded to the appropriate folder. All pre-masters must be WAV files (24-bit / 48 kHz).
STEMS
This folder should be populated after the pre-masters have been bounced. We require stems only for the main version and any loops (if they appear as edits). All stems must be WAV files (24-bit / 48 kHz). Please refer to our separate Stem Delivery Guidelines for further details.
MASTERS
This folder is for the final masters. All files must be WAVs (24-bit / 48 kHz).
IMPORTANT:
All submissions uploaded to the folders above must be labelled according to our Titling of Track Submissions guidelines.
LYRICS
It is vital that lyric sheets are completed and saved in the correct format according to our Lyric Sheet Guidelines
